BeWelcome has met the 2022–2023 donation target.

Thank you!

Founded in 2007, BeWelcome.org is backed by members only and run by volunteers. There is no CEO, no tycoon, no venture capitalists, no spyware, google tracking, paywalls, verification fees, hedge funds, offices, paid staff, shareholders and no conglomerate behind us. We are 100 per cent non-profit, independent and governed by members.

Our finances are open and transparent. Our accounts are published once a year to be checked and agreed on by the General Assembly of BeVolunteer. During the year the Board of Directors — and the treasurer as the responsible delegate — takes care of financial matters and is also your contact persons for related questions.

If you’re interested you can read our latest financial report, or look at the budget for the coming financial year. You can find more information about BeVolunteer’s finances and accounts in the financial-reports.

We are enormously grateful to our members for recognising the need to safeguard free to use hospitality exchange and appreciate previous contributions over the years.

BeWelcome is defined by its ability to bridge people to people and culture to culture in a sustainable manner. With many more people hoping to more mobile, COVID-19 has damaged finances for both would be travellers and hosts. Therefore, the concept of free hospitality exchange, without paywalls and verification fees, has become even more important. While there are vast seamless and convenience options for well off, connected consumers, such as hotels and Airbnb, these options will often contribute to deepening social and cultural divides.

Your choice of travel and your choice of platform (for-profit v non-profit) makes a difference.

Thank you for your continued support,

BeWelcome Volunteers
