Updates to the site (first release in 2021)

We, the volunteers of BeWelcome, hope you are well and staying safe. 

Here comes a long list of smaller or bigger improvements to our platform since our last update in October 2020. 

Find Members (locations): 

• The drop downs now all have default values to avoid a layout problem. All search options should work now as well as ordering.
• Because of the decreased activity with Covid the default has been increased to display profiles which have logged in up to two years ago. You can change this setting under search options.

Activities: 

• "Maybe" participants are now shown in the widget on the landing page.

Groups:

• Invite people should work (better).

Forums:

• Reply page shows more posts.

Messages/Requests: 

• Spam reporting is easier now.
• Deleting and purging should work now.
• Notifications include the date of message creation on sending - this fixes the ordering in email programs.

Home:

• Language for home page based on the preferred languages set in the browser.
• Search for a place to go shows a full map now (see below).

Edit Profile:

• Shows errors to clarify why saving profile changes didn't work.
• Adding languages to your profile is now limited to spoken (and signed) languages, for example no more Chinese (Simplified) as mother tongue.
• Birthdate is now a date picker instead of three dropdowns.

My Preferences:

• Language list now shows correct translated names of possible selections.
• You can search in the list of possible languages.

FAQ:

• Links to FAQs now open the answer directly.

Wiki:

• Shows a history again which allows to view old versions. No diff yet.
• Link to start page added to main menu.
• Added recent changes page.
